An Oak Leaf, the ancient French symbol
of welcome and hospitality, adorns the door at The Lodge
at Fair Oaks, bidding you welcome to the timeless setting.
Nestled in the woods, the Lodge sits high on a hill overlooking
the beautiful Tuscarawas River Valley. Enjoy the songbirds
and white-tailed deer...sip coffee on the secluded terrace...go
antiquing and explore old barns filled with treasures.
Guests
love to wander trails marked by deer or pick berries in
the surrounding fields. Others watch the sun glint off their
golf balls at the adjacent courses. Begin
your day with an amble through the countryside, enjoying
fresh air and the beautiful scenery (view

A crackling
fire burns every evening in the stone fireplace and walking
sticks wait by the door for morning's adventure. We invite
you to make your destination The Lodge at Fair Oaks, and
relax in serenity.
Welcome!

Things
to See and Do
The
Tuscarawas Valley's Swiss Heritage is celebrated in autumn
during the annual Swiss Festival in nearby Sugarcreek. The
small country hamlet is transformed into a European village,
with Swiss costumed residents, live music, and plenty of
locally-made Swiss cheese. Visitors enjoy the Swiss cuisine
and apple fritters, while dancing in the streets until well
after dark. The sound of yodeling fills the air, just as
it once did in Switzerland, and the stein tossing event is
the most popular of the evening. All watch intently as contestants
see who can throw a 138 pound stone the farthest distance.
(Olympian Jud Logan holds the record at 14 feet, 4 inches!)
Apple
farms, weekend wine tasting, hayrides and pumpkin patches
are favorite destinations this time of year, when the red
and gold hills remind us what a beautiful world we live
in . As one guest put it, "The best way to see the
spectacular fall foliage is from the steaming hot tub at
the Lodge at Fair Oaks, sipping my glass of wine, enjoying
the smell of a wood fire, while the sun sets on the valley
below." Now, that's the way to relax!
Talented
chefs make their home in the beautiful hills of our region,
prompting our reputation as the "Little Alsace".
This refers to the famed vicinity between France and Germany
known for exquisite cuisine, the same area many of our residents'
ancestors hale from. This explains the abundance of great
restaurants our guests enjoy when staying at The Lodge at
Fair Oaks. Many are just minutes away, and their scant prices
belie the delicious menu offerings.
